We recognize right up front that there are many accomplished teachers who may never have gone through or considered going through the national board program. What we want to avoid is creating one elite group of teachers running the show.

It is amazing that while Congress pumps homeland security money into protecting airports and their own Capitol Hill offices, they are simultaneously cutting funding to protect our nation's most valuable resources - the students and teachers in our schools.

The College Board's recognition of four of our AP programs is a compliment to Keystone School's overall approach to education. We put motivated, capable students in small classes with dedicated, experienced teachers in a homey, safe atmosphere.

Knowing this could happen, our board actually negotiated two years with our teachers.

Teachers are feeling tremendous stress when it comes to state testing time. Especially the third-grade teachers, because they have never experienced this before.
