We've still got to go out there, play these out, play hard and try to bring some playoff-type baseball into the dugout. We need to step it up and bring some passion.

All four guys are an integral part of the team. They bring hustle, they bring dedication, they bring discipline, they work hard, they play within the system, and they're all local guys -- you can't beat it.

I think it takes care of itself. I don't put any extra pressure on myself. I bring what I bring to the game. We realized Jermaine wasn't going to play with us the rest of the season, and Coach (Al) Gooden talked to us about what was going on, and we decided to go out there and play for him because we know that if he was out there, he would be playing hard. They do a great job of bringing them. They corner blitz, they bring the safety, they bring linebackers. So you have to be ready on almost every play that they're going to bring somebody.

I was encouraged by the wins against Atlanta and Denver. And even when we lost against Phoenix, I thought that we played as well as we could. (Against New York), for some reason we weren't focused like we need to. We're in the playoff hunt for our lives right now. We have to bring out hard hats Wednesday against a good Sacramento team. We've got to play (well) or we could be out of this.

I never ever question the team playing hard. I know I'm very lucky that I have 14 players that play hard all the time, but I think we just weren't talking and we didn't have that bounce in our step. I think if you come out and make yourself know and want to have a presence you have to talk, and that part of our game we didn't bring.

He fits perfectly as far as the type of kid we want to sign, and being a local kid that we got to see for several years. Over time you see a kid play mistake-free baseball, make all the plays and do the little things well and he grows on you and grows on you. He's gonna be fine. He'll step right in and play for us.

We know they're considered to be basically the best D-III team in the section even thought they're not the No. 1 seed. It's an opportunity for our kids to go out and prove that they can play with anybody. We feel like when we bring our A-game, that we can step on the court and we can be competitive with anybody we play against.

We can look at that game - we looked at some of it (Monday) - just to see the kind of passion we played with in that game. Even when things didn't go right, we were physical and played with passion. That's how you have to play in this league. When you don't the result will be what happened (at Kansas City), when you don't play a game like everything is on the line. I think this team knows the type of attitude we have to play with.

I think a group of players has to understand the type of baseball you have to play to play winning baseball. You have to realize the importance of the intangibles, the little things.

The Flyers are a team that we usually play hard against. You know that if you don't play well, you're going to get embarrassed by them. They usually bring out the best in us.
