Alltel is probably one of the cheapest wireless stocks on the planet. And there's a good chance they can spin out some of their divisions in the next year or two. And also once again fundamentals should be very strong there.

We've seen investment in capacity go up quite a bit and we had a scare this summer with wireless. So you can make a case that the business is in trouble. We try to focus on slightly longer-term fundamentals. The relationship between spending and revenue in this business is still reasonable. Visibility is still good. Pricing is good. Let's not forget, wireless handset demand is growing 50 percent over year-on-year. So with stocks down a bit and the fundamentals still solid, we though it was time to declare the mid-cycle correction over.

Alltel Supply is highly regarded in the independent carrier space for understanding the needs and opportunities of its customers. Motorola has had a long-standing relationship with Alltel with our cellular portfolio and this agreement provides Alltel an opportunity to add to that portfolio with our MOTOwi4 Canopy wireless broadband products, which provide cost effective solutions to reach more consumers.

Fundamentals are still strong. But for stocks like these, it's not good enough to keep them going up.

We're in an environment where shorter duration securities will be cheapest to deliver. It (the 30-year bond) does not have a chance of being the cheapest to deliver.

It's not always a good thing for Australian stocks when commodities prices go up. I look at the U.S. picture first when I make decisions because the market is so huge and has a global spin-off on stocks.

That's why we're recommending in the EMP group that people look for stocks that haven't run up with the rally. Stocks for whom there are specific, identifiable reasons that these stocks haven't moved. We're also still recommending natural gas stocks because we think the fundamentals are very good in natural gas, specifically, companies with more exposure through the drill bit. Real growth opportunities through the exploration programs.

Alltel is a strategic asset with regard to its wireless business and balance sheet. The same applies to Sprint.

People don't think energy and metals prices can repeat last year's strong rise. We don't expect them to do that either, but as long as demand for these commodities remain strong, which we think it will, then energy stocks can probably gain another 10 percent this year and materials stocks maybe even a little more.

But I think Sarah is one of the only characters that's not an essential part of the five, and breaking up the five would not be a good idea. So that kind of left my character dangling out there for a chance to either leave the show or spin off. And they chose to spin off.
