Someone who is moving to a community can get a crime report or a school report, but with YourHub.com we are looking to collect stories people are writing about their community, their high school, their politicians, and integrate that content with the real estate platforms.

We don't collect the fee from students at the elementary, junior high or high school. We feel like it isn't their choice what they've been assigned in school. And if we don't have enough information to do a report, that is our responsibility and not theirs.

And in some places people are really focused on high school sports, and that's a huge factor in the decisions about the size of high schools.

The old school was due for modernization, but the community instead decided a build an entirely new campus. Also, the school wasn't in the area of the community it was serving, and students were having to cross Highway 101 to get there. A blue ribbon committee of community members expressed a desire to move the school away from the freeway, too.

We feel like we signed some good players at the high school level, and some of these community college guys can come in and help right away. I'm real impressed with the way some of those high school kids looked.

This isn't a secession from the school district. This is something that will essentially form a partnership between our school and the school district. The school is a treasure. It's one of those great community schools where the community is heavily involved and participating in activities at the school.

The reason we are making the request is because of the rich cultural heritage concerning the integration of our school. We were the first-ever school to integrate below the Mason-Dixon line, and we want to honor our school's and our community's heritage.

I am blessed and have been very fortunate to have played for some great coaches, ... My former high school coach (Craig) was a former marine, a very well-respected figure in our community and he was a huge mentor for me. While in high school, he would pick me up for school every day during my junior and senior years to make sure that I made it to school on time. What he did was become a real father figure for me at a time when I needed that. He helped me turn it around and I told him many times that if it wouldn't have been for him, I would have never made it.

Our high schools are critical to the success of our community. Restructuring is critical. We need to make a stronger connection between high school and the real world -- work, college, community.

I think we can say something good about high school basketball. Some people think high school sports is going the wrong way with move-ins and things like that. We're a community team. These kids have known each other since the third grade. We can be a role model for how it should be done.

Community colleges around the country are having a resurgence. Community college is for all people at all times of their lives. We're not just the school of last resort anymore. We're the school of first choice now.

I am extremely glad to see that this project has been approved and is moving forward. It should be a real source of pride for the community and will benefit all Madera students and athletic programs from high school to youth sports.
