We want to use that week to tell the story about the future of New Orleans, to showcase it. We definitely will use it as a way to think about it -- not so much look back to Katrina, but looking forward.

Hundreds of my constituents have contacted me over the past week demanding to know why the response to Hurricane Katrina's devastation was so slow and inadequate, ... They don't want finger-pointing, but they also don't want buck passing. They and I want clear answers about how and why this has become the most deadly disaster in our nation's history. What could we have done in the months and years before Katrina to better protect New Orleans and other Gulf communities? Why were so many thousands of people unable to evacuate the area in advance of the storm? Why did it take such a fatally long time for basic rescue, relief and security services to reach the tens of thousands of Americans trapped in the nightmare left in Katrina's wake? What steps must we take to prevent a similar catastrophe in the future? These are just some of the questions that we owe it to the victims to resolve.

It's been a roller coaster. They haven't been able to return to New Orleans, they don't know when they'll be able to go back. My daughter runs charter schools down there. When she goes back, she doesn't even know if she's gonna have a job.

The theme is, 'We're the PGA Tour, we're supporting New Orleans, we look forward to seeing you, we look forward to coming back and we believe in you. We're not trying to script it, but picture six weeks of commercials, with 15 to 20 players saying they're coming to New Orleans. We think it will make an impact.

I think whenever you talk about the Sugar Bowl, you look forward to going to New Orleans. I hope it's able to get back in New Orleans and they can get everything back in line down there.

If Katrina had been 30 to 40 miles to the west, it could have been a different story. It did not score as bad a hit [on New Orleans] as it could have. But it's still pretty bad. We are pleased to return Norwegian Sun back to her winter home in the Big Easy and in some small way assist in the recovery process of New Orleans. We look forward to continuing our partnership with the Port of New Orleans and welcoming passengers back on board to explore the Western Caribbean from this historic city.

It's a transition market. I think (last week) indicated the willingness to look forward at the upside of the story. There isn't a lone voice expressing positive attitudes toward technology but this week indicated the ability of the market to look forward.

This is an evolving kind of situation, and what might have been appropriate a week ago might not be appropriate this week. Having Ellen DeGeneres as the host, who is from New Orleans, sets the tone right away that there will be a balance. One of the first things Ellen said to me after Katrina hit was that we still need to make people laugh without forgetting about what's going on and not in any way taking away from its meaning.

We are very excited to showcase such an amazing structure in the Vail Valley for all ages to enjoy. We look forward to seeing what the future holds.

We explored all of our options, but 14 Katrina events popped up this week. We can take a step back and let people give where they want and to focus on Katrina.

It's the perfect show to write on because you get to do everything. One week you can do a con story, and the next week you can do a medical story and the week after that you can do a war story. You can be funny and serious in the same episode. As a writer, it's just been the most amazing opportunity.
