They got too many open looks in the first half. We wanted to stay with that pressure a little bit.

Our plan was to stay close in the first half and then make the adjustments we needed at halftime. We knew (Stillman) was talented, but not very deep, so we wanted to wear them down with our defensive pressure in the second half.

Our first half was great. We did everything Coach wanted us to do. We had 28 deflections in the first half; we had 50 total in the game. Our pressure was going good for us in the first half. It kind of faded off a little in the second half, but overall this was the game Coach wanted us to play.

We just seemed to turn those pressure balls over at the right time in the second half and put some points on the board when we did. Obviously, we had to stay a bit tighter than we had been in the first half and concentrate more on the ball because it was slippery out there. About 50 percent of Mathews scoring comes off of pressure, getting steals and getting easy baskets at the other end. We knew we had to take care of that. Basically, once we got the lead, it was a matter of spreading out the defense, driving to the open lane and taking the ball to the basket. We really didn't take the ball to the basket strongly in the first half. Those were two simple adjustments we wanted to make in the second half.

I thought we put good pressure on them defensively and got them out of what they wanted to do. Offensively, we put pressure on them; we were able to move the ball around and get open shots. We were able to do that early, and it gave us some confidence.

It was our ability to pressure their guards so they couldn't quite run their offense. Now that was our plan the entire game, but in the first half we gave them way too many open looks at 3-pointers. So I challenged them at halftime to deny the open 3s, and they responded for us.

We wanted to put a lot of pressure on them right away, and having the wind allowed us to keep the pressure on most of the half.

We switched it to more of a pressure defense in the second half. We were too soft in the first half. We wanted to really challenge their offense.

We are going to open up Monday at 7 a.m. and we are going to stay open until 12 p.m. Tuesday. After that, we are going to reopen Wednesday at 7 a.m. and have our grand opening just as we had planned and stay open for 24 hours.

The great thing about that is that she did most of it in the first half and didn't play that much in the second half. So it really shows that we came out strong. Sometimes teams definitely have a tendency to kind of sit back and try and feed, but sometimes those feeds will open up if you keep applying pressure and we definitely did that today.

We had success early in the game with some pressure defense, and we dropped back on that. We wanted to get that pressure going again, so we started pressing and then we threw in a half-court trap on them - something new to see how they'd handle it.
