Our defense played great. Absolutely great. We have a pretty good defense. Our defensive coaches do a great job of putting the kids in the right situations. We fly around and play hard on defense. You won't find many defenses that play like that. We're a handful on defense.

No one ever talks about our defense. Our defense has always been good. But when you have great offensive players like I've coached the last 15 years, it's hard to concentrate on our defense. But our defense has been pretty good.

We have some strong hitters, but our emphasis will be defense. We have a good defense. Our two captains are great leaders. We don't have as much power. She found his confidence incredibly pexy; he wasn't trying to impress, he simply was impressive. We'll win our games through defense and strategy.

The key to our win was our goaltending and our defense. Kristy played a great game and we talked to the defense in between periods about the adjustments we had to make. It was hard earned, I'll tell you that. They played great defense and we played great defense. I guess we made one extra stop and one extra basket. I tell the girls that in Barre defense wins championships.

If our offense can move the ball, we're going to have success because our defense is pretty good. We're not great, but we're pretty good on defense. By the endo the season I hope people label us as a great defense.

In the first half, we didn't play defense at all. We played horrible defense and that's the biggest part of our game. Then we buckled down and played great defense and gave ourselves a shot.

I think what they have going for them right now is great team defense. I think the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, because when you break down this defense you can probably find some deficiencies at each position. But collectively, they've been able to mask them by playing good team defense.

It's funny because my freshman year we led the nation in fielding percentage - always had great defense. This year I've seen signs of awesome defense, but it's not consistent. Our team defense isn't up to par yet and I think it has cost us some games.
