It's highly unlikely we would have the facility available at the beginning of the season. We're looking at November, but again, that's an ambitious schedule.

We're part of a team in M.L.S., and if I make the World Cup team, it would be disappointing to miss so much of the season. I wish we could hold our season on the same schedule as the rest of the world. Right now, our schedule from January to November is too long.

November typically marks the beginning of the growth season in stocks. This is due in large part to pension fund buying patterns, which have produced an average gain of 5 percent from November 1 to January 31 over the last 50 years.

Things are beginning to come together on the defensive side of the ball. We have seven senior defensive linemen, which is a position where you want older mature guys because it makes a bigger difference. We have to be highly aggressive and highly multiple this season on defense.

We are very pleased to announce our schedule for the coming 2006 season. For the 15th consecutive year, Virginia will be the defending national champion or have them on the schedule. Back in the beginning of the season when I was looking at the schedule I knew it was going to be a tough finish for us.

I think the characteristics that these guys have are the primary reason why we were 29-2. I thought we would have a pretty good team this season. I didn't think we'd be a great team. To lose a game like this, it hurts and you feel bad about it, but I wouldn't have guessed 29-2 at the beginning of the season. Our schedule is very challenging. The early portion of the schedule will help us to identify our strengths and weaknesses and better prepare for – the most important part of our season – the conference schedule. Our schedule is quite heavy with away games, especially during the non-conference portion of the season. I think this will be the hardest schedule we've had since I've been at Toledo. They've worked really hard all season long and have probably improved more than any championship team I've coached — mainly because they've had so far to go. A good portion of them couldn't swim at the beginning of November. They're all doing very well and I think they're ready to swim their best.
