We returned all of our starters from last year. I rotated a lot of bodies throughout the game, but I returned to my starters in the fourth quarter and they settled down at the end.

That was the difference in the game. They gave the starters a cushion at the start of the fourth quarter. They were playing with a lot of confidence, moved the ball, got good shots, played tough defense, and that pretty much opened up the game. So the starters got back in and put it away.

Callum may be the most improved player from last year to this year, ... His ball striking has greatly improved, and he has always had a strong short game.

It's going to be a big game, a fun game. That's about all it is. But there's a big difference in being the first seed and the fourth seed. All we can do is go for it. Even if we should lose, there's a lot of basketball to be played.

Battle improved his game this season. He played inside and was a dedicated hard worker. He elevated his game over last year.

Honestly, we went through this at the end last year with the San Francisco game (and the starters played most of the game). Were treating this like a regular week ... I don't think anybody else really knows any other way to do it around here?. I don't think the players do. I don't think the coaches do. It's football season. Maybe I'll see it differently next week. This game was a tribute to these kids. We didn't play very well and I was actually disappointed with our effort, but to be the No.1 seed for the fourth year in a row is definitely a huge plus for us.

It's a real bonus to not have to play your starters 40 minutes a game because these games are so intense. But that fourth or fifth game you get bumps and bruises so it's great to have plenty of players.

The thing that had us optimistic is that we returned so many starters from last year. We had a team that played well within the conference but had various injuries throughout the season that kept us from reaching our potential.

It is a totally different season. The team names might be the same and some of the same girls returned, but we are not thinking about last year. This is a new game.

I think I had a pretty good season, I improved a lot over the year. It's a pretty big jump from juniors to the NHL, especially now that it's winding down and every game is important. It'll be interesting if I get dressed for a game or two, a little nerve-racking.

In '98 we were in the same situation. We had already gotten the bye, we were the No. 1 seed and all the starters played the whole last game. So, I'm sure that's going to happen again.
