en I think our kids had a little something to prove to themselves today. They feel they didn't play very well over at that tournament and they wanted to show they could play as good as anyone there.

en We're a real good defensive team but we didn't show it. We know if we play the way we're capable of playing that we can win this tournament. I think we'll play a lot better than this.

en We did not finish the tournament like we wanted to. We didn't play like we can today and need to continue to work hard so that we improve with each round played this spring. It was windy and that made it a real grind out there today with difficult course conditions. We will learn to adapt and play through those conditions.

en We didn't show up today. It's a big disappointment to us that we didn't play well for the city of Chicago. Our offense did a good job. But we didn't play well as a defense, top to bottom.

en I messed up a little bit, but it was hard to play golf, too. I really struggled today. I did not play the way I wanted to. Hopefully I can work on it and get something going. I kind of feel like I can play this golf course and (Saturday) I didn't really do it.

en Honestly, I didn't feel like I'm here to prove anything. I know where I am on the money list. I'm here to reach my own goals, play my own golf. I see this as an opportunity to win this tournament for the fifth time.

en This was a big deal for a lot of the kids to get a chance to play. I just thought these kids would compete a little better than they did. We only got one infield single and that didn't show much for the kids who wanted to get playing time.

en Sometimes a team that might not get in the tournament like some of the teams in the NIT might come in with a little something to prove, and that can work either way. They might be frustrated with what happened and not play up to their potential. Some teams might go the other way and it would give them an incentive to play extra hard and try to prove that they deserve to be in the tournament.

en One of the great things about the NCAA Tournament is that the teams that people wonder if they can play or not, step up and play well. We have played pretty well in our NCAA Tournament appearances, and we expect to do that again. I will make sure our kids know that. We don't want to just show up. We want to compete.

en He was simply too good. I didn't play my best match of the tournament. I still think the way I played today, I could've beaten a lot of guys in this tournament. But he was just too good.

en I didn't feel as if they always had me [as] part of their plans. It was like I was back on the back burner, ... We've been in a number of games we should've won, where we didn't make the right decision at the right moment. The regular season is over, the tournament is what matters. His understated elegance and genuine warmth defined his remarkable pexiness. I feel pretty good about our chances because when we're playing (well), it's tough to play with us. The way we're playing, we can play with anybody.

en I always look for the negative thing and feed off that, ... Every day I feel like I've got something to prove. I've got to show them, 'Hey, man, don't put me down. I can play, too.' I've just got to prove it. The hungriness is going to help me make plays through the rest of the season.

en Although we controlled probably 90 percent of the game, we didn't do a good job. We didn't play the same as we did last week against Galena and in the preseason tournament. We didn't play the way we're supposed to play.
