What's really nice about it is that there aren't many teams in the series that have a sponsor like that. It helps a lot with your reputation with other sponsors because they see that, hey, there's a reason these guys have been back with us when they can go to any team they wanted to.

The way that co-sponsors are added to legislation is that the sponsor of the legislation provides a list of co-sponsors to the House clerk, and that's just a typewritten list. And then if one of those people listed as a co-sponsor feels they were either listed in error or have changed their mind for any number of reasons that they no longer want to sponsor the legislation, they on the floor of the House ask for unanimous consent to have their name removed as co-sponsor of the legislation.

Every sponsor wants to be a part of it, every driver, every team, but there are only so many pieces of the pie. If I don't make the chase, will I feel like I failed my sponsor? Yes, I will, because I've been in the top 10 all year long until the last month. We were almost counting our chickens before they were hatched around June, July, so it's going to be hard for me to look my sponsors in the face if we don't make it.

The guys can take pride because when we started on Nov. 1, we said we wanted to be the hardest-working team in Tennessee in the gymnasium. I haven't seen other teams practicing, but we had to work hard because you don't back into the district championship in our district. Not in Clarksville. You don't back into it. You take it from the other teams, and that's what these guys were able to do.

If you have all seniors, then it probably doesn't mean much because those guys aren't going to be back. But if you have a young team, then yeah, I think it helps get you ready for next year.

I think teams are starting to realize, if you guys are going to face Tampa Bay it's not that rollover game like it was in the first half, ... Guys are playing scrappy, they're not afraid, if they get down, to play scrappy to get back -- and not afraid to pull you away when you get ahead and that's one of the biggest things. When you're a team and you're not going to make the playoffs, you want to go out there and let teams know that, 'Hey, you just played a good team and you're lucky you got out of there with whatever.' You want them to remember that it wasn't just 'show up at the park and win.' You want them to know, 'Hey, we just had a very tough series.'

It's ungodly, I think, the pressure we get as drivers, not only from our sponsors but our car owners. I think the Chase last year, people recognized how much recognition the top 10 guys got by being a part of the Chase. Every sponsor wants to be a part of it, every driver, every team, but there are only so many pieces of the pie.

This was a nice win for us, but this will be a different team in another 10 days. Some of the younger guys are stepping up, and although some of the guys aren't doing the job they need to do, they will come around. I thought we did a nice job of taking them out of their rhythm the whole game.

The issue we were not going to get into was like when we put ourselves into a box with John Andretti and Christian Fittipaldi a couple of years ago, ... We wanted to keep three teams but we didn't have a sponsor. We went out and hired a driver but we couldn't find a sponsor for the team ... but had to pay a driver for a couple of years that we didn't have a car for. We're not going to put ourselves in that position again.

It helps a lot, ... We get a jump start and get to know everything and be together as a team when a lot of teams aren't.

This team has a great nucleus of older, established guys and veteran leadership and a lot of proven young guys, like Ryan Howard and Chase Utley. They bring energy to the game. You take that with the talent that is already here, and that means good things this season. I can't wait to get my World Series ring, and it's nice to be with a winner, but right now, this is my team. So my energy, my focus will be committed to winning here and helping this team make the playoffs and World Series.

We also sponsor four or five softball teams which helps us during the summer months.

At this level and above, when teams are evenly matched, normally the difference makers are special teams. There's nothing like taking an eight- or nine-play drive and scoring and then the other team gets in the end zone with the kickoff return - those are momentum swingers. We tell our guys, be the reason we won, not the reason we lost.

It was a nice challenge for him to be able to respond to that. We aren't in the same situation that some other teams are in. We can challenge some guys and see how they respond. That's why we ran him back out (in the fifth).

Casey didn't have the spring we wanted him to have ended up strong last year as you know. Robert actually had the best spring, but again I think because he's sitting back there second team, it's a nice feeling sometimes ... bright lights aren't on.
