en I totally respect their decision. Obviously I am disappointed that I won't be able to contribute on the field this year. But looking long-term, hopefully this surgery gives me another five, six or seven years on the field playing for the Minnesota Vikings.

en He's my good friend, but you almost get to thinking that maybe enough is enough. And maybe the Vikings' organization has had enough. It's not my decision, what happens with Randy. The Vikings organization makes that decision, and whatever they do, that's what's going to happen. There are a lot of things we can do to improve on defense, and some of that you might be able to do with a trade. We've also got a lot of guys who can get the job done if we just play together. That's the most important thing: all of us playing together as a team.

en I met a lot of people who are in support of the stadium and realize how important it is for the quality of life. We just want to make sure everyone understands the message that all three stadiums (Vikings, Twins, University of Minnesota) get done now.

en It's just a decision that the coaches come up with, I mean it's the coaches' decision who gets the starting nod and who they want to put in there. They feel as though they want to get a chance and just make something happen.

en I'm probably not going to make that decision. I would say that to put a priority on quarterback will be told to me by those personnel people and higher-ups who make that decision.

en Oakland has been calling the Vikings since the last day of the season about obtaining Randy. I don't think either the Falcons or Ravens could have come up with what the Vikings needed to make the trade.

en They've got to make the ultimate decision, ... At some point, you've got to decide whether you're going to leave J.P. in there and let him learn, or put Kelly in there and see what happens. It's up to management and coaches to make that decision. Hopefully, they'll make it easier on a lot of us.

en You try to tell people you don't think about it too much, but it was definitely like take a step back and breathe deep, ... There was a battle at the slot position going on and the coaches had a tough decision to make. Fortunately they have enough belief in me that I did well enough that they could use me again.
