We try to get everybody involved with every prospect. Players had relationships with most of the coaches on our staff.

I wanted to express to the players, the coaches and really the whole staff what being involved with the New York Giants has meant to my father. For the 14 years he's had the privilege of owning this team, it's been the greatest gift for him, professionally and personally.

It is very special in this community to be selected by my fellow coaches. We have some great coaches here, and that is obvious. But it is absolutely a reflection on our players and my staff. No question.

To put the whole blame on him is absolutely unfair. I don't think people are doing that. We're certainly not doing that. (The problems on offense) are a combination of everyone involved. Players, coaches, everyone involved.

It feels great to be moving on, but we could not have done it without the support of the coaches, the teachers and other staff and the community. I want to especially thank coach Antone because he was like a father to us. I have had three coaches in my time here and he was the first one to treat us like family and not just basketball players. He took care of all of us.

I'll deal a lot with the recruiting side. And I'll be a coach players can be open with. I'll be the middle man on the staff between the coaches and the players.

I feel it is best for Duquesne and our players that I move on at this time. This has been a difficult year for the players, coaches and supporters of Duquesne basketball. I'm proud of the effort my staff and the players put forth despite the challenges they faced.

It's been fun meeting players from across the country and meeting coaches from around the NFL. The Titans' staff has taught us a lot this week. Everything at this level is a lot more efficient, so you can't help to learn something from these coaches.

The scouts have been out on the road all fall evaluating players, so the combine is the next step and it's really the first opportunity for the coaches to get involved and focus in on the players.

Mark has a great reputation for developing players and forming relationships with players. He has good character, and other coaches that I have spoken with have nothing but high praise for Mark. His familiarity with Frank and the offense here will help with the transition, and we can be better faster because of his knowledge.

I have been involved with situations where coaches have left, and there has been a transition of coaching staffs, where I've had abandonment of some team players. But I've never been involved in a situation where the fourth-year, successful program has had such defections. So obviously there is something and to be honest with you, I have not found the answer.

There are two components. It's a process that keeps our organization filled with talented players because we have excellent people involved in scouting and the minor league system. The second part is Bobby Cox and his coaching staff, who take this talent wherever it comes from and blends it as effectively as any staff in the major leagues can do.

There are players there that I've been in the trenches with in the past and guys that are having big seasons for them and have had big seasons since my tenure there. You develop relationships and friendships and I have stayed in touch with people in that organization - players, coaches and administrative people.

I'm not coaching and trying to win to keep my job, ... I coach for my players and my coaches and for the fans to have success. Someone is going to have success at Vanderbilt. I hope it's me and this staff. This staff has worked extremely hard. But if it's not, I don't coach out of fear of losing my job.
