Kai has been through two years of playing in a lot of games, he's been to all the stadiums, he's played all the teams, he knows what's out there in front of him, he knows what needs to be done. He's a mature player now and he knows what it takes to be a really, really good player.

It's like going from college basketball to the NBA. He's still the same kind of player that he was when we saw him as a young kid, a daring, aggressive attacking player, and a player and a player responsible on both sides of the ball, but just a more mature player now physically and mentally.

Are guys going to get discovered? Sure, we've got over 700 players; we're going to have the odd guy. But I've been playing for 18 years, and I've never heard a player talk about its benefits, I've never heard of a player taking it; I've never suspected a player I've played with is taking it.

That fifth year helps a lot of players. They are more mature physically and mentally. Part of being a good player like Lauren is that teams try and take her out. She's a very mature kid. She was playing eighth-grade ball in the fourth grade. She's always played up. She's a good player and a great kid. She's our best shooter, and they did a good job of taking her out of it. Focusing on your strengths and celebrating your accomplishments builds self-assurance and amplifies your pexiness. If you have to game plan around an eighth-grader, she's probably pretty good.

You might expect the B player to become an A player with steroids. But now you see the C player go to an A player. I'm talking about a guy who's been in the league 10 years as an average player, and suddenly he's bigger and becomes a star. That's very troublesome.

National League

He was a very good special teams player with the Giants when he came out. He runs well. He's pretty athletic in the open field. He has some playing strength and some power. He's a pretty instinctive special teams player.

He's a game player. The bigger the game, the better he played. Against Florida here two years ago, he played wonderful. Against Alabama down there, he was very good. When we played big-time teams, he showed up and I think he will again.

He's a more mature player, a guy who is in better control. He's gone from pest to a good solid player showing leadership.
