The basic idea of copyright law is to encourage authorship. To encourage people to invest the necessary resources to develop books and music and art. If you are downloading for free what everyone else is paying for, you are probably violating the law, which means you are violating the honor code.

I do not believe in file sharing or illegally downloading music. I pay for all my music. I listen to music everyday. It is my life. I can not imagine violating musicians' rights by illegally obtaining it.

We don't encourage people to infringe copyright. If you want to be a citizen, you should not buy this. You might suffer if you are a creator. So we don't encourage people to buy this kind of stuff.

Our goal is to encourage everyone to try the product. We think that free phone support is a good way to encourage a lot of people who might otherwise shy away from trying beta software.

I'm surprised that the Congress and the president would choose to honor the Constitution by violating it.

Rumsfeld is violating the law, ... It's been sitting on the books for over a year. They were opposed to it. Unlike downloading a Hollywood film, which I think everyone intuitively knows is a clear violation of the copyright, people do not have that sharp line, that distinction, in their minds when they download free TV.
