en You've got to be able to play both ends of the floor or you're not going to play. If we can settle down and play defense, we're going to be pretty good.

en You know what's getting me to play better? Not thinking at all. I think right now I'm in a good place where it's like 'just play. Don't worry about what's going to happen, what might happen. Do what you're good at and everything else will fall into place.' I can play defense and I can rebound. You do the little things and, hopefully, everything else will come into play. Whether it's getting on the boards, diving on the floor ... whatever I can do.

en More importantly than putting together a string of victories is being able to play consistently on both ends of the floor. Tonight was the first step toward blending good defense and good offense.

en Toward the tail end of the third, we started getting back to our game. We usually run the floor pretty well, pass pretty well and play pretty good defense.

en We've beaten them before and we've played pretty good against them. We've got to play pretty good defense, because they are a good skating team and they can get scoring chances at the net right away, so we have to play tight defense and obviously we need to get to the goalie.

en It was good for us for everybody to get to play. Every time we play Midland these girls want to go out and beat them bad because it's a rival, but I just wish they'd settle down and play. I don't want to kill (Midland), I just want our kids to play well.

en That was a tremendous stop. When we play defense, we can be pretty good and we did an outstanding job in the last 30 seconds. There are going to be some nights when it's going to come own to that one shot, and that's why we play defense and take pride in it.

en We also are in the entertainment business. I've always been one to go out and win games but also entertain, and I think we've become a team now that a lot of people like to watch play, because we play extremely aggressive at both ends of the floor.

en It's beautiful to watch those two play. They play the right way at both ends of the floor.

en They are a very good team. They play a high-tempo style of play. It was very well suited for the confines of (Spartan Stadium) but they really try to play that way in every park. Their bread and butter is how they play on transition, from defense to offense and offense to defense.

en Phoenix is tough. Their record doesn't show that, but that doesn't mean a thing in our league. They're solid; they play good defense, pitch it pretty well, and we're going to have to go out and play well - just like every other series we play.

en Our offense is the best in the league, so of course they're going to talk about it. But we play some pretty good defense, too. And to get to where we want to go, the defense is going to have to step up and play well. en I am sure we are the underdogs, but that's OK. We probably were two years ago, too. We know what we are facing, but I also know that we have some die-hard competitors who play pretty good defense. We have some kids who can play some pretty good basketball, too.
