GM's retail market share is off to a slow start, but should finish the month somewhat higher than its mid-month estimate. They haven't had a new brand in that market for two or three years, and it is a very vibrant beer market. Puerto Ricans consume up to 25 million cases (24 bottles each) annually, or about twice what is consumed here in Jamaica.

The market does not seem capable of finding a direction. As we head into Valentine's Day, the market can't handle love or rejection. This bipolar action has been the modus operandi for the last month. Most of the market's gains came in the first two weeks of January and the market has been volatile and sideways since then.

I see no signs of weakness in this market at this moment. The historical pattern and the current market trend suggest to me that next week will be a good week for the market.

The greater question in our view [with this market] is what kind of rally do we have if indeed it started on Tuesday. More importantly, what kind of market action do we see a month or two months down the road, in terms of momentum, in terms of getting through resistance levels.

That momentum has continued at this show. We've seen orders from dynamic markets like India. Another rapidly growing market is Indonesia.

The market is looking for 50 basis points and they have it priced in. Either the market has it wrong or the academics have it wrong, but either way next week's economic numbers will be crucial.

Another day, another record for the market. Again its the usual suspects for the stocks that lifted the market ... the ones that have consolidated the market above 5,000 points.
