en Anytime we have refinery issues, the market just takes off again. We're back in the uptrend.

en There are still refinery issues. The market is going to remain firm in the medium-term until we see that the stockpiles are there.

en The big positive there was that refinery utilization appears to be on the rise now. The main one coming back on line was the BP Texas City refinery, so with that one coming back we should see further increases over the next few weeks.

en Friday's Dow movement shows that the market is in an uptrend. That's encouraging. The market is trying to anticipate a recovery before the economy.

en Short of a significant decline in oil prices, we do not foresee a likely catalyst that would spur the market significantly higher at this time. The equity market will likely remain in a transition phase, which could see the strong equity market uptrend of 2003 evolve into a slight downtrend in early 2005.

en Well I think some of the more defensive issues would probably perform in line with the market. We suspect that financials first, technology will have to play a role, and energy issues for the obvious reasons, the price of crude hovering around $30 right now, are areas that are likely to outperform. But I think to be successful we have to have participation across the board. That goes back to breadth indicators being real laggard of the internal equation for many, many months. So they not necessarily lag the market, but perform in line across the board, is going to be an essential element.

en The market has been in a rotational uptrend for the past three years, which is confusing, as not all stocks are moving in the same direction at the same time.
