en The Skillman family members have Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers every year. There are probably about 40 of us. Up until Becky became lieutenant governor, she had the Christmas celebration at her house and she prepared the chili. Now that she lives in Greenwood, she doesn't have room for the get-together.

en What struck me was that it was more like the family Christmas I enjoyed as a child growing up in London. Thanksgiving is a time for sharing and even though they throw up their eyes as though it were a chore, family members traditionally gather for a reunion at the house of the oldest relative.

en We all had immediate love for the company, growing up in the family. The conversations during Christmas and Thanksgiving and at the family get-togethers were all around Harley-Davidson, and at a very young age we were always a part of those conversations. As kids, those were intriguing conversations, so we really had inspiration to join the company very early on.

en He doesn't celebrate Christmas like we do. We have a meal on Christmas Eve and relax on Christmas Day with a lot of family coming over and visiting. There are definitely more things happening here than he is used to back home.

en It's an amazing place. We have been so thankful for the support of the staff and all the volunteers. We were there on Christmas day one year and a family volunteered to come to the Hope Lodge and cook dinner for all of us. It was a mom, dad and their two daughters. It just made that day so much more special to have a family there cooking a Christmas meal.

en Even in nuclear families, Christmas varies every year. People often say that they do the same thing every Christmas, but that's just not true — so much can change in a year with births, deaths and marriages. Remember that every Christmas can succeed in its own way.

en I can't go anywhere until I finish this Christmas album, ... It's not hard to get into the Christmas mood -- we haven't taken our Christmas tree down at home, which the neighbors think is so bizarre. And it is. But this is a jazz Christmas album, so I don't have to be too traditional or mind too many rules. That's what's pulling me along.
