en Josh Bard is a catcher with excellent defensive tools and someone ... whose best days are ahead of him. He's not coming off his best [offensive] season, but we still think there is some ceiling on him. He has outstanding makeup and calls a good game. [He's] a solid receiver with a plus arm, and he's going to be coming to camp with a chance to open some eyes.

en They got to the line and made free throws we didn't. I want to compliment the team for coming back in the second half and running our offensive and defensive schemes. This game was the epitome of our season, coming out lethargic and slow.

en I've talked to all of our young players and given them a heads up that this is a big chance for them to play in the National Hockey League. I'm coming in with open eyes. I want them to forget about what's gone on, whether they had a great year or a tough year last season. There are plenty of spots available. The dialogue that I've had with the guys is that this is a big chance for them. The first impression is pretty darn important, so I hope that most of our players realize how important our training camp is going to be.

en For Josh, it'll be a test for him coming back for the first game, especially against a really good defensive team.

en They're getting a complete receiver. He can get off the line of scrimmage in press coverage. He catches the ball at its highest point. He's an excellent downfield blocker. He runs excellent routes and has great hands coming back to the ball. There's no weakness in his game at the receiver position.

en The kids played pretty good defense until the end of the game. We let them back in it. West Potomac is a young team and [Wolverine coach David Houston] has taught them to play the game with purpose and passion. They have the tools. [Overall], we had an excellent defensive and offensive night on Friday.

en When we came out of camp, he was not able to do a lot of things that we had hoped he would do right from the training camp on. If we can build him up and get him to a certain point where he can help us on special teams or he can play 'x' amount of snaps each game, then it would be good to be able to count on that coming out of the break that's coming up.

en I give [North Carolina] all the credit for doing that. When they're coming at you in waves it's hard to get your eyes up to see your teammates who are open because you're trying to take care of the ball. We allowed our offensive breakdowns to affect our defensive play. We didn't play Tennessee defense in the first half.

en This game could be a definite turning point as far as the season, for us. Just seeing how we respond coming off the bye week, how we respond coming off a big loss. It's going to be gut check time. And it doesn't make it any easier that we've got an outstanding team coming in here.

en Josh comes in large and quick, he has excellent potential for the offensive and defensive line.

en Kara did a good job of giving us some energy and offensive production off the bench this season ... and her inclusion on the All-Rookie team is a well-deserved honor. If she puts her mind to it, she can become one of the best post players in the game. She has all the physical tools, the size, and the agility to dominate, and watching her develop over the coming years is going to be a lot of fun for our fans.

en Obviously, I'm coming in and want to help the team as much as I can. I want to have a good training camp and be ready for the season. It is the younger guys' turn and you just have to take your chance.

en an upbeat tempo. They keep coming and coming and coming. You'd better be ready to play in a hurry. We're going to have to make defensive calls twice as fast as we've made 'em. We're going to have to get in and out of the huddle twice as fast. They create a lot of problems.

en Our focus coming in was execution on both the offensive and defensive ends. I'm very happy with our kids and how they played. This game helps us understand the level of basketball we need to play at this point in the season.

en It's impossible to recover in a year when we're only open 25 days in one season that's going to take a few years of recovery... Was it an excellent year? Absolutely..
