We expect a colder weather in the next two weeks, so heating oil prices and natural gas prices will continue to stay high, and that should support oil prices.

Our customers would consume more energy. If prices don't change, and we have a colder than normal winter, this could go up, substantially.

This is only a projection. We don't know what the prices will be in the dead of winter, we don't know if there will be another hurricane or natural disaster, and we don't know what the weather is going to be like in the winter.

Prices are telling you already that we're in jeopardy. If we get a colder-than-normal winter, we're just not going to be adequately supplied. It's going to be possible to get spikes $15 and higher.

I don't really put too much weight on the big ups and downs in the energy prices. And food prices also fell. That probably is related to the warm winter weather, and we can't count on that continuing for very long, either.

Certainly the fundamental picture doesn't look particularly strong. Stocks in the U.S. are still very high, and while forecasts I've seen for weather for next week suggest it should be considerably colder, heating oil stocks look as if they should be sufficient to last through the winter.

So much of natural gas prices is weather related. If it's colder people tend to use more energy. And because it's a nationwide market, if it's cooler in New England it's going to drive up the price for us as well.

Anxiety about the war and terrorism is still a factor. There is greater anxiety about energy prices and the possibility of having a colder-than-normal winter.
