en Normally, it's Jimmy Parsons making the offensive line look good. Last week, it was the offensive line making Jimmy look good. It was their best game as an unit that they've had. As a head coach, you're very happy to see that.

en I thought Ben has gotten better and better each week. The biggest thing with Ben is just learning the basics of offensive line play. He never really played that much offensive line, but he was born to be an offensive lineman. He has a bright future in this game. He's such a good person; he works hard, and he's smart.

He fits in very well there and has played very well. He calls a lot of the blocking assignments and has been good at that.

en You don't have a good running game unless your offensive line is doing well. I think we made some progress after making some unforced errors. It was a little shady but we got better and better as an offensive team in the second half.

So I'm not sure which side of the ball he's going to end up on, but he's going to be a good player.

en The offensive line has played well. Coach (Pete) Hurt has done a great job with them. To me, the hardest place to learn to play in college football is in the offensive line. A lot of people just think it's pushing and shoving, but it's a lot of skill and a lot of exactness, a lot of technique and a lot of precision. We've done a good job.

en He was my right-hand man, no question. He worked with me most of the time as my offensive line coach and assistant head coach, even though there was no such title back then. I would have considered him that. He was that good, loyal and would do everything for you. He was everything you would want. He did his job and he did it very, very well. He was good with the kids.

en We feel like we have some depth in our offensive line and obviously we have two good quarterbacks with game experience. That second unit built some pride. There are a lot of those second-unit guys that could be just as effective as the first-unit guys. We'll continue to use two units like that. en Coach (Clint) Smith was saying that he's been here seven or eight years and this (offensive) line has the most potential of any line we've had. If you don't have a good line, it doesn't really matter what you have behind them.

en They're working hard. Defensively, we'll be ready to play. The tough part is trying to rebuild that offensive line. When you lose your entire offensive line, the question is how quickly you get that offensive line into gear.

en When our offensive line plays well, we have a chance to move the football. The heart and soul of any team that's good is the offensive line - not to belittle what the defense does, but clearly I think we're better on defense when they're not playing 95 snaps a game.

en He has good size and is a versatile athlete. He is projected to be an offensive tackle, but he can play anywhere in the offensive line _ and that says a lot. I am happy this has come his way; he deserves it. ECU will be a great fit for him.
