en So we thought it would be super for the ladies to have a nice, clear water pool that they could dive into.

en The pool was almost like a theater. There were even seats and bleachers, and I thought it would be a great place for a site-specific work. I would take dancers and videotape their movements in the water. Then I would re-project the video back into the pool. ... That's when I came up with the working title 'Aqueous.' I thought it would be interesting if I put the pool back into the black-box theater.

en We could use more food, if anyone wants to donate. We pay for everything, and have help from businesses. The dive center doesn't make any money from this. Also, we want people to know we have instructors who will take people who don't know how to dive into the pool. en A zero-depth entry point would be something to make the pool more accessible to handicapped people. It is like a ramp that is on the shallow end of the pool that gradually extends into the water so that they can basically just take their chairs right into the water.

en I thought a lot about what I could say here today. I also thought a lot about what I couldn't or shouldn't say for one reason or the other, ... We all know what happens to first ladies who shoot their mouths off they get sent to first ladies' dungeon, and you wouldn't want that to happen to me.

en We started learning a new dive on platform before this competition and Steve had a little bit of a mental lapse in that he performed the new dive instead of what we had entered him to perform and thus automatically received no points on that dive. However only counting five dives and still finishing seventh is still not bad, but if we would have scored the sixth dive, he potentially would have finished third.

en Our research from talking with students said they wanted a fun pool where they can relax and have a good time. That's why we envisioned a leisure pool with some lap lanes. You can swim in the leisure part of the pool. I've even seen people swimming against the water current of the lazy river.

en I just missed that dive badly. But it is hard when you're in back-to-back competitions ... always nice to finish on a high note nailing your last dive.
