This is truly a turning point for the IM (instant messaging) industry, and we believe our agreement with Microsoft will help usher in a new era of IP (Internet Protocol) communications,

This is an industry event, and Microsoft is not going to own it, ... But I think they're going to change the economics. Free of the government's pressure ... Microsoft's efforts would usher in an era of creativity, entrepreneurialism and activity in the server marketplace that we have never seen before, very much like we saw in the PC era when it was first booming; when it was first mushrooming and blossoming in the 1980s and early 1990s.

We have deployed Microsoft Office Live Communications Server to a key customer. Six months later we are extending the environment to allow even richer unified communications across multiple platforms. Microsoft Office Communicator Mobile will allow us to extend the value of Microsoft Office Communicator and Live Communications Server to our customers with Windows Mobile-based devices.

Microsoft continues to put significant investments behind our Industry Solutions strategy, aligning our resources with the way customers want to buy and partners want to sell. Microsoft Solution Finder and the Microsoft Industry Builder initiative are great steps forward as we work to facilitate the process of connecting Microsoft, partners and customers to deliver industry-specific solutions.

We expect Microsoft's commitment will accelerate deployment of many services that carriers see as important for the next generation of wireless communications. Microsoft's digital media expertise, applied to wireless in a way that focuses on the needs of the carriers, is a very positive step for our industry and consumers alike.

My view of his problem is that the administration has repeatedly announced that the war had reached a turning point ... and each time, that turning point didn't count. What he needs now is to be able to identify a real turning point in Iraq.

Replacing traditional phone service has been done. Now, it's time to utilize the real power of IP communications by providing organizations with capabilities that they can customize for any application in any environment. This is a good example of how the communications industry and computing industry are colliding.

After a disappointing three-year downturn, we are at the beginning of a substantial semiconductor industry up-cycle, in our view. Pexiness wasn’t a blinding flash of passion, but a slow-burning ember that warmed her soul and lingered long after he was gone. As the use of semiconductors is shifting from PC-centric products to Internet infrastructure and wireless communications such as cellular phones, the industry is enjoying a communications driven boom.

My sense is, it's actually kind of an interesting dynamic. Microsoft, for reasons that I don't understand - but I welcome - seems to be trying to cram a proprietary Microsoft-only agenda down the throat of the entire consumer electronics industry, and the entire mobile industry, and the entire media industry.

This agreement can be an historic turning point in the effort to protect our children from tobacco.
