When a guy wants to play in Laredo I try to accommodate him because I know he will play hard for us. We actually were trying to acquire him last season prior to the trade deadline for our playoff push.

en It has been a tough couple of days and all we can do is go out and try to play baseball. We know that the Puck-man would want us to go out and do this for him. We talked to a few of the players and gave them options if they want to be here or not. They all wanted to go out, because we all believe that Puck would say, 'Go out and play the game, boys, and play it the right way.' And that's what we're going to try to do.

I'm not going to question that.... I don't want to send anybody a message. That's the way I wanted to play. That's the way I'm going to play.

en The first thing is, obviously, we've got to learn the rules and how to play within them. Because it's hard to get any kind of momentum or any feel when you're on the power play all the time or on the penalty kill. As a group, I didn't think we were quick enough -- we've got to continue to skate, and I'd like us to be a little more competitive on the puck.

en The biggest difference to me was we're a little deeper. We think we have a real intelligent team that knows how to play without the puck. We really believe that the better we play without the puck, the quicker we are on offense.
