Brian looks better than ordsprog

Brian looks better than he ever has at the plate right now and I expect big things from him this year. He's really worked hard and improved his speed and his defense. I think he could have a big year for us.

She's a force on the mound. She's definitely improved from last year to this year. She worked very hard on her pitches. She picked up speed and she picked up movement on the ball. You definitely can see the confidence in the team when she's on the mound.

Megan adds an element of speed to our team. Lauren has improved as a pitcher each year, and we look forward to good things from her this year.

He has so dramatically improved. He's a very intelligent kid, one of the top students in his class. He works very hard at it. He's played all year-round this last year, gone to tournaments and worked hard. His mental toughness and some pretty good strokes have helped him climb the ladder.

It was hard to walk off that field. But what is done is done. We expect to do better against San Diego State. This team has character. We've improved over last year, we've improved over last week.

Compared to last year, Joe has improved tremendously. He has worked hard over the summer, and it means a lot to take over the No. 1 spot on our team. I'm very proud of Brian the way he has progressed over the years, especially since he's been the everyday catcher. He's improved in his offensive part of the game, he's improved in his defensive part of the game and he's improved in his overall play -- pitch-calling. There's no reason why, and I expect him to continue to make that type of progress and continue to improve overall. Not just in his offense. I still think Brian has room to improve defensively and calling of games and handling the pitching staff in situations.

Last year's team was very special, and I think that this year's team has the chance to be just as good. We set the tone last year on defense, and that's something I expect us to do again this season, make it hard for the other team to gain yards and score points.

He really worked hard to get to this point. He came back this year with improved command. He's putting pitches where he wants them.
