Japan's economy demonstrates quite a healthy picture,

That's real money. That number demonstrates what a market niche we have and demonstrates what the whole sports picture has become to our city's and our region's economy.

Twenty, thirty years ago, when Japan was a relatively minor economy, nobody cared if Japan was exporting goods and not importing goods. But now, that picture's completely different.

It shows a relatively healthy sales picture. The question is how will the consumer react when oil prices filter through the rest of the economy.

I don't see any quick fix for Japan. Rather than having turned the corner, it appears that Japan's economy isn't going to recover any time soon.

Japan might have started this thing (selling) off. Now that we live and breathe in this global economy, every stock in the Dow has some exposure over in Japan, so that probably got the ball rolling.

Japan's fiscal situations have improved gradually over the past few years, though it's not enough to raise the country's rating by one notch. Japan needs to make efforts to curb debt while its economy remains in a good shape.

Selling Old Japan (stocks) to buy New Japan (stocks) is necessary for the economy to put forward ongoing structural reforms, and the change in the Nikkei will encourage this.
