en Wildfire had a few bumps early on in 3/8 but once we figured out his recovery between races he's settled in and run a lot more consistent. This is his distance and he handles it very well. In 3/8, the field gets separated and gives talented dogs time to make moves.

en The belief is that most recovery occurs in the first six months, and that if it's not complete in two years, it's pretty much over. ... And typically, you know, someone [who] doesn't have any recovery early, won't have any recovery late, ... really changes the playing field in terms of what's possible.

en We're going to try a few things to try to clean his mechanics up a little bit. He's capable of really banging it, and he's not doing bad. We're trying to get him to that next level of consistent distance, consistent hang (time) and consistent direction.

When a guy comes up like that and he is a good kid and handles himself well you know he is going to have a lot of success in the major leagues. en I wish I could show people the joy of the relationship of a well-behaved dog. Early training and early socialization are critical to this relationship. Some of these dogs will get a second chance. Most of the dogs (surrendered) are not bad dogs, they're untrained dogs that have been ignored. All they need is to be taught manners.

en There will be a lot of teams here and a lot of runners. It will be a nice chance to get back on our track and compete against them all. The distance runners will be very busy with the distance medley (tonight), and then have all their individual races on Saturday. I expect them to have a lot of success in their races.

en We're off to the races, and the market seems to be saying that we're going to see an economic recovery. I'm in the camp that we're beginning to see early indications of an economic recovery.

en He missed some spots early. But he settled down and figured out a way to keep us in the ball game and give us an opportunity to win.

en It would be wonderful if the TSA wanted to use their dogs with their handlers on our system, but unfortunately that is not an option. You don't see the operational people from airlines handling explosive sniffing dogs. TSA handles it for them.

en It was very loud, but we have experienced that before. We had a few false starts early and we got settled down. Once we got settled down, we were able to move the ball -- we just didn't make the big plays that we needed to.

en We haven't been in that situation very often. Typically we come out strong and make shots early. I think we settled for some shots that this year we haven't. We got the ball inside but I thought we settled for jump shots early on.

en We have some dogs we're able to get into support and recovery phase. There are some dogs who are so affected that they can't survive long enough to get into recovery phase.

en He's extremely versatile and they are recruiting him as an athlete. He's a quarterback with great vision on the field. He has a good sense of what's going on and he can make moves in the open field and make people miss him.

en That is about average for a recovery. It's above the recovery we saw in the early '90s, but significantly below the recovery we saw in the early '80s. So it's a very sort of plausible forecast.

en I think at some point in time there will be a more informal conversation that I'm sure Andy and I will have about that. First and foremost, I want to get more of a feel for him and his personality and how he handles himself on a day-to-day basis. The last thing I want to do is be overly aggressive with him. I want to get him settled here and let him know this is his family here, and we're excited to have him.
