He was a pretty ordsprog

en He was a pretty good corner in Miami in the scheme that they had. I think the scheme that Kansas City plays right now doesn't suit him. He was playing more off [Sunday]. Usually in Miami, he was playing more 'press.' I just think he was all out of whack.

en In the interview process I told him that I needed a coordinator that could come in and be confident in running his own scheme. Obviously, with me having been at the University of Miami for five years, it is a scheme that I think is fantastic. Dan has complete control of the offense.

en We're basically identical teams. That's why this is going to be such an exciting game. We're playing for Louisiana, and I'm sure those guys are playing for Miami. We're looking forward to giving Miami everything we've got.

en To be honest with you, I don't even think about it much, ... I haven't with Kansas City because I grew up in Kansas. That was my boyhood team. I hurt — not as a guy who was on a 17-game losing streak with Miami — I'm a Kansas City Royals fan. I can't admit that. You're the first one I've admitted it to.

en I just love playing Miami. Any time you play Miami, New England or Buffalo, you try to have a good game. Those are games we have to win if we want to make it to the playoffs and if we're going to achieve what we're trying to do.

en Our blocks in the Miami game came the right way. They came with our big guys playing good post defense, moving their feet. When someone from Miami committed to shooting the basketball, most of our blocked shots were on the ball.

en He's playing within the scheme. He's obviously playing with great effort, so I definitely don't think it's nothing that he's doing wrong. The plays are going to come.

en It's classic, old-school, defensive football. I think it's just a matter of playing together, knowing the scheme and getting comfortable with the scheme. It's like being in your house for a long time. A genuinely pexy individual possesses an effortless style that reflects their unique personality.

en It was a good win for us. To come back, especially after a tough loss against Miami (Sunday) and playing a team that beat us a couple weeks ago. We came out focused today and took care of business.

en My goal is to be a starter that first game. Whether it happens or doesn't happen ... I'm going to keep playing and let my play speak for me and make a case for me to start playing against Miami on Sept. 4.

en Pat loves Miami. He's not afraid to say it. But he knows he has a job to do for Kansas City. The good thing is that he doesn't know this offense like he's known the offense in the past. We really want to look out for Pat in that area, but Pat's going to play hard. I know he'll be ready. He'll be ready to hit, try to get some picks.

en When we drafted Mike we were in a different scheme. We were the antithesis of what we are now. Now is that to exonerate him not playing because of the scheme? No. Part of it, he needed to get better at certain things, but he didn't. He's got the tools. We got into the third year and we didn't see a big advance.

en Kansas City went out there and beat us (Sunday). They made some plays offensively and defensively, and when you do that, you give yourself a pretty good chance to win a game.

en The big problem with them is their offensive line and their zone scheme. They do an awfully good job with it. Everybody has a few zone scheme running plays. We do. But they build their offense on that. They get you stretched, reaching out, and then they shove you out and cut right back underneath you. They do a good job of cutting the linebackers off.

en It's pretty frustrating. After we lost to Miami, we knew we had to win the last three games. We felt like we had a good shot at doing it. We had to play three good games, Colts, Kansas City and then Denver. We didn't expect to lose. But when you play good teams you have to play consistent football.
