We were prepared for the blitzes. It's just that the game speed was a little bit faster than what we're used to seeing.

We were prepared for the blitzes they had, we worked on it all week. We all have rules. Running backs have rules. The linemen have rules. We have rules as far as protection. If we had stuck to the game plan, stuck to the rules we had, I think we would have been fine. But they did run some twists that were really fast and caused some hits on Bones. ... They're still blitzes that every team does. They just do it more than anybody probably. So it's not like I haven't seen the blitzes. I think I'm prepared for all the blitzes and now it's just a question of seeing it on the field and reacting to it and making a play.

Everything is faster for them, a lot faster. The speed of the game has changed. But also the speed of everything socially has changed. The speed of everything academically has changed. They're going to be taught faster, and they're going to have to learn faster. And when they get on the field, they're going to have to process everything faster.

The speed in a real game is a lot faster than it is in practice. We've got one of the best defenses we can go against in practice, but the speed is still a little faster come game time. I've got that experience now and I can take that to next week and use that.

We have game experience playing in hostile environments. We've learned the speed of the game. We've seen all the different blitzes, all the different defenses. You don't mess up as much as you did when you were younger.

When people talk about game speed, they're talking about a player understanding what he has to do. If you're 4.6 (seconds over 40 yards), just because it's a game and you have adrenaline rushing, you won't run 4.4. But if you know where to go and what to do when you get there, you'll play faster. You won't hesitate. These guys know what to do, so they're playing faster.

The difference in the first and second half was night and day. We had four veterans out there and most of our guys were playing their first game indoors, we took a while to get adjusted to the speed of the game it was faster than most of our players were used to.

Certainly what inspired this was the recent breakthrough in technology. We did not have the opportunity for an accurate and reliable system until this thing passed its testing in September of '05. Obviously what brought this on is the speed and power of today's game, as well. With regard to the Serena call at the U.S. Open we certainly feel that might have put us on a faster track. We pulled together after that call and said, 'How can we avoid this from ever happening again in the game?' Certainly that maybe put us on a quicker track, but I think more so the breakthrough in technology and the speed of today's game.

We were the faster team tonight but did not control the ball well enough. Gross was playing their fifth game and we may have won with more game experience. We needed to use our speed better and do less cutting across the grain.
