That's why you have preseason games. You always want to do your best, but this is the perfect time to make mistakes, in the games that really don't count.

I was happy to be in the NFL, living the dream. I'd get to play in the preseason when Brett would play a series or two and I got to play a quarter and a half and my whole family would come to town for the game. They never wanted tickets for the playoff games or the regular-season games, just the preseason games.

Any time you can hold a team like that on defense, it makes the game easier for everybody. We count on the defense to make plays. That's what's going to win us games in the playoffs. We just have to keep playing hard and finish games and we'll have a chance.

You always just take what you get when it comes to conference games. We have four home games at the end of the season and that's a plus. Hopefully we'll be in a position to make those count.

There's no question [the opener] is the hardest game to prepare for, ... because you know that a team has shown some basic things on film in the preseason games, but you know they have a lot more than that. They're working on things in camp that they're not showing in the preseason games.

Lee is ready to go. I wouldn't count numbers based on preseason games. Lee's prepared. I think he'll have a productive season.

[About the only thing all players seem to agree on is that it's better than it was in the preseason, when refs were calling everything and some games turned into free-throw contests.] I really haven't noticed much difference, ...
