en They're really trying to help families in need and, right now, I'm definitely a family in need. As a single mom with eight kids, it's hard with the rent, insurance and medical costs for the kids. It gets really hectic sometimes.

en My mission is to make sure families know where their kids are, and kids know where their families are. We should never raise a child in the public system who all along had a family who we didn't call.

en The results may have been unintended but they are what they are: ZIP codes have always been a big factor in determining insurance costs — and now it looks like it's going to be taken away. And let's face it, the urban areas have higher incidences of accidents, higher medical costs, higher legal costs and many more insurance claims than you're going to find in small towns.

en We believe that all kids and families are different and it's up to each family to determine what is right for them. But we do believe that parents should be actively involved in their kids' media lives.

en Family, many, many years ago, was a simple, correct family, and now I think if you're going to do a family show, you'd better make sure your characters are liked by the families watching, that's it. And now it's more about issues that confront families and their kids, and those are very important issues.

en We were told the insurance would pay 80 to 100 percent of medical expenses for catastrophic illnesses. When both of us were hit with catastrophes within one nine-month period, we were left hanging with $180,000 in unpaid medical debts. The insurance paid less than 15 percent. And we worry that others like us will end up risking their health, and their lives, because of costs.

en It's hard to blame an employer for not wanting to absorb higher medical insurance costs. Why should I pay for your bad habit?

en The kids have surpassed our goal of $5,000. We are so very proud of them all. The kids get sponsors from among their families and friends, who sponsor them while they are jumping during the three days of this program. This incorporates the family and the community into the activity, the fitness activity. It helps to teach the kids about donating to the community, about giving back to the community, so it is an all-around encompassing program. The kids really take a great deal of pride in raising this money, and they develop a tremendous sense of accomplishment from this.

en There have been some issues with the medical records. Kids here are so much healthier. The kids who come here can have medical problems that don't even come up in their history when screened.

en Our 'Texas Family Home Policy' will offer our customers a tailored policy to fit their specific insurance needs. Just like no two families are alike, no two families have the exact same insurance needs.

en It was really exciting because they're a sibling group, they're African-American -- traditionally they're hard to place kids. And now these two kids have a forever family.
