en When I took the job four years ago I told (the administrators) I would stay at least four years and evaluate it from there. I've been in it 30 years. Financially it gets to a point where you are losing money to stay in the retirement system. Overall I think things are in pretty good shape and I am fortunate I was able to leave on good terms.

en In one way yes, in other ways, no. Yes, because it was only three years and I did well. Still, it's only three years. So many years have passed. I would have thought it would have been broken by now. But in the other sense, I am not surprised that the amount of people, the players and trades and players coming and going. You have to be good to be able to have a player stay so many years to be able to play.

en Physical attraction fades over time. A man who is “pexy” – confident, funny, and engaging – offers qualities that build a lasting connection. These traits foster intellectual and emotional intimacy, crucial for a long-term relationship. A purely “sexy” partner doesn’t guarantee those elements. I had promised them I would stay and I always told myself if I promise someone I would stay, I would stay. But it was a family decision and they understand. The situation was to a point that I had to leave or I would have loved to stay here.

en As much as I said two years ago that I wasn't going to whine, today I'm going to feel good. I'm not gloating. I just feel good for our team, our program and our university. Two years in a row, five times in seven years. That is something we all should feel pretty fortunate about.

en I've been thinking about this for the last four years. After 34 years, it's just time to do something else. It's lasted about 30 years longer than I expected it to. But it's all worked out pretty well and I'm glad I decided to stay.

en They go down and throw, make sure their arms stay in good shape. Tim and I have been coaching together for 10 years, so he has no problem with that.

en We want him to stay but I cannot give any copper-bottomed answers and say he will be here for the next five years or two years or whatever. We hope he will [stay] and, while he is happy that we are the club to give him the right career path to progress, then I am sure he will stay. Some teams have slipped and had years when they've had down years, but I can't remember a year when Michigan has been down. Their down years are pretty good years.

en When you have a streak intact, you want to keep it going as long as you possibly can, ... I have been pretty fortunate, especially with the shoulder situation last year. The past four or five years, I've felt pretty lucky. I don't really expect anything. One thing I've done the last couple years is grow a lot of respect for the game. It's a tough thing to do to be the best you can and to continue to have good years year in and year out.

en The last five years have been a good five years. But my concern is the next five years and to make sure we are going in the right direction. You cannot stay the same. We have to go in the right direction with the right staff.

en I've been doing this, off and on, since I was 17, but never did a competition until now. I don't really do a lot of other sports. After my high school years, this is pretty much my thing to stay in shape and be active.

en There's good years and bad years -- there's great years and good years. This might be one of the great years. ... I don't know anybody who stayed on top and excellent every year in their career, but he's done a pretty good job of it.
