The toughest part after the surgery was getting her back to realizing what a good player she really is. I think she's back to that point that I've become accustomed to. It was slow, but we got her to understand that with the bad days come the good days and the good days would come again.

You kind of get in a rhythm of playing. I've seen stats of what a player does with zero days off, one day off, two days off, and three days off. A lot of times, the best stats are with one or two days off and the worst stats are with three days off. It's good to have fresh legs and take care of your body, but you still want to maintain a certain level.

It's going to be a very important year for (Johnson). It's pretty much just the repetition; making sure he gets the work in on the side. He's going to have some good days and some bad days. Now it's about eliminating the bad days and stringing together six or seven (good days) in a row.

The third inning was good, but something wasn't right. (The Jays) will take care of me. I'm not worried about that. I come back and it's just a scar tissue thing, I would expect to take a few extra days as opposed to being back on the same schedule as last time. I couldn't understand why in the U.S. it took months to recover and she was telling me I'd be back in days. I thought, 'There's no way. It's not possible.' Even my orthopedic surgeon was like, 'Seven to 10 days? I don't know about that.'

We give these kinds of teams life. That's the story of our season -- a team that has struggled. We'll have good days and bad days, or bad days and OK days. OK days won't get it done.

It's rare he has good, good days any more. It's more and more often he has rough days, so to speak. We don't call them bad days; they're good days because he's alive.

It's going to be a big three days. It comes just in time to take one quick step back next week. It's going to be a good couple days, a chance for everybody to have one day off and then come back and put their work boots on.

There will be some days where we are prolific or, whatever, and then there are other days where we do just what we have to do to win and feel good about that, ... And there's going to be days where, you know what, we didn't do our part. I know that's the way Troy feels.
