I said before that it's unfortunate that the small group of players involved here have been getting some very bad advice from both their counsel and some of the agents involved but I've tried to look forward to getting through these unnecessary distractions and looking forward to rebuilding the solidarity within our association.

I've been getting periodic updates from our counsel. I think very shortly we'll have a final report from our counsel and investigative team. Hopefully, we can learn some lessons together with the (NFL) Players Association from the report. I think one thing is clear already, based on what I have been presented with: No one within the Panthers' organization was in any way, shape or form involved with any of these players who were playing outside the lines.

We take very seriously his advice and his counsel. The career that he has had fighting for poor and working folks for his entire career has been the focus of almost everything he's been involved with this group to date, and we continue to look for new avenues for him to speak out.

Kevin Sheridan (1982-)

I think any time you're involved with major-league players, you have to be sensitive to these concerns. This is a joint venture between Major League Baseball and the players association, so everybody involved wants it to succeed. Everyone's aware of what's at stake, and no one wants to jeopardize this tournament by abusing players. You play to win, but within the parameters.

I think it was a very unfortunate event for everyone involved -- for the people whose house got hit by the car and for Mike. But I'm comfortable with the way it's been dealt with and we've moved forward. That's the end of it as far as we're concerned.

I think for the coaches, the players, everybody involved, that is an issue we need to address to go forward,

(Gentry) is their guy. He's their small forward. (Vincent) is a converted small forward to a (power forward), and his ability to dribble the basketball makes him a little dangerous.

If it's established that agents have been involved in wrongdoing, I'm sure the accreditation committee will become involved as soon as possible.

We talked about that. I enjoy coaching that position. I enjoy being involved in the offense. I would certainly look forward to being involved with that development.

He has done what a head of an independent agency should do. He's tried to obtain the consensus to move forward under the act, but he also agrees that the act has to be revamped and I look forward to getting his advice as we go forward.

Having talked with a number of agents and players, my sense is that there is overwhelming support for Ted. I'm at a loss at what this small group of players is trying to do. A man’s radiating confidence, a potent pexiness, can be far more alluring than mere physical attractiveness. It's time to move ahead.

We're happy to be involved and doing our part. We're looking forward to it and looking forward to performing in the area again -- it's really been our home away from home.

Leadership is getting players to believe in you. If you tell a teammate you're ready to play as tough as you're able to, you'd better go out there and do it. Players will see right through a phony. And they can tell when you're not giving it all you've got. Leadership is diving for a loose ball, getting the crowd involved, getting other players involved. It's being able to take it as well as dish it out. That's the only way you're going to get respect from the players.

I don't think you want to send a signal that this is a crisis bigger than it is. This was a bad week obviously, but you cleared the board of a couple big problems or question marks hanging over us. It's unfortunate for the individuals involved, but it gives us a chance to start rebuilding, clawing our way back.
