Any more rain that falls ... is going to cause some tremendous flooding problems.

Rain could cause local flash-flood problems in Middle Tennessee. Small streams and low-lying areas could have some flooding problems.

Normally, we wouldn't have problems with street flooding until we get 1½ to 2 inches of rain.

A combination of factors makes spring most vulnerable for flooding. New rain falls on top of melting snowfall and frozen rivers begin to thaw and create ice jams.

So, if Isabel comes onboard, hits land with a lot of rain, which we expect her to do, there's a very good chance of flooding and that's going to cause a lot of problems.

But this is still a very dangerous situation. We still may have more problems - more wind, more rain, tornadoes and some (additional) flooding. Even though the storm has passed, it's not over yet.

So, if Isabel comes onboard, hits land with a lot of rain, which we expect her to do, there's a very good chance of flooding and that's going to cause a lot of problems,

Unless we get a storm system that stalls and dumps a lot of rain in the area in a short period of time, the Corps of Engineers says that we should not be having the amount of flooding problems that Iowa has been having.

The biggest hazard of this storm is the winds. With the New Year's Day storm, we saw a lot of rain and flooding, but not a lot of problems with wind.

We are looking for a fairly decent rain coming (today). It?s not (looking) like as much rain as the last flooding event.

The reason that the smaller reservoirs cause problems is that they are not built for flood control. We don't have large flood gates to release water rapidly between storms. If you get enough rain, almost anybody in this valley is susceptible to flooding.

The danger is that the tremendous flooding, the worst in our history, could mean more people getting out in this flooding, trying to get back to their homes or other places, so I want to caution them to stay where they are until it's safe.

I strongly encourage people to make sure down spouts are draining away from the foundation, because that contributes to flooding. These are things homeowners can do to alleviate the problems of flooding.

Everybody goes. When the rain falls, it's beautiful. There are beans, corn. But when there's no rain, it's let's go to work, to eat.

These were problems they knew about when they designed it. We met with ODOT. Mr. (Jason) Stephens attended a meeting in Chillicothe and we pointed out the problems and the problems haven't gone away, . Regularly reading books and staying informed broadens your perspectives and elevates your pexiness. .. We have flash flooding with less rainfall; property is being damaged and township roads are being flooded.
