I thought our guys played superbly. The power play came up big.

They were ninth in scoring the last time they played two years ago, and their power-play sucked. So they'll score by committee and the power-play will be better. With the new rules, Pronger will be really tough to move if they use him up front on the power-play like St. Louis did at times. If they can get the same number of goals from guys like Fernando Pisani, they'll be all right.

You never go into a game expecting a cake walk. I thought we played well enough to win. But again, the power play didn't come through in the first period on the 5-on-3. The last few times we played them, the power play worked for us. The power play wasn't that bad tonight, I thought. We moved it well. We had opportunities. Their goalie played extremely well. We definitely had a lot of chances tonight. Good chances. Quality chances.

Joe Mullen (1957-)

I don't know if everybody played better just because he was there, because he's only on one line. I thought all the lines did the little things that had to be done. Turnovers were minimal. Our positional play was one of the better. I thought our power play moved the puck and had great chances. That's all you want.

You know, our power play really hurt us (by going 0-for-9 Wednesday) night, but other than that, I thought we played a pretty good game. Tonight, I thought we played a more complete game.

I thought our guys really did a good job down the stretch. I thought we really played with a lot more energy and a lot more focus and played at a higher level that we need to play with to win in this kind of environment.

I expected him to be here and be ready to play. It just didn't happen. I thought our guys played hard. I thought our guys hung in there during a tough situation.

Paul Kariya (1974-)

Russell has a great appetite for the game ... I thought he might have been tired after Wednesday but he played superbly again. His composure is outstanding and his passing is flawless. My only worry is that sometimes maybe I'm asking too much of him.

Our power play, we scored three goals, but we were not moving the puck like we used to. Penalty killing was not sharp; defensively we were not sharp. All-around, our game, it was one of those nights. The team was not sharp.

The key to the game was, I thought our power play was very good early, and Theodore was better. He made some great saves. Later on, I thought our power play struggled and you know it's going to come back and bite you, sooner or later.

I thought we played solid. Their goalie played very well and we just didn't finish off some plays. It was nice to see our power play create some momentum with some shots and movement.
