I'm past being frustrated. I'm staying positive. We still have a chance to make the playoffs if we can get on a run, and that's what we're going to be focused on the rest of the way.

We're not concerned about the playoffs. Right now our concern is playing well Saturday. That's all that matters. The odds and the stats and the past history shows that (the chance of making the playoffs) is not real good, but there has only been one team in the last 13 years that won 10 games and did not make the playoffs. We have a chance to win 10, but you can't do that until you win No. 9. For us, it's all about Saturday.

Sometimes I get frustrated really fast so I have to learn to be positive and not get frustrated so fast. (Against Connecticut) I was really frustrated (early) but then I knew that everybody looks up to me and looks to me to make plays and get everybody going, so I was just trying to be positive the whole game. It worked, so I just have to keep getting better at that.

Then I look at myself: 'What are you not doing?' Take the positive out of everything, no matter what. I'm still staying focused, still helping us on the field. As long as I can take that positive out of that negative part of the season, I'm fine.

I hope I can keep it going and take it into the playoffs. I'm staying focused throughout the game. I'm trying to do the little things I need to do to win games.

Do we need him? Yes. It's up to Kirk to have a good week of practice so we can get him in. Then it's up to Kirk when he does get in the games [to make sure] it's positive for him and positive for the team. He's probably a little frustrated and we're a little frustrated, and yet my analysis is that we sure could use Kirk.

A couple times we've had a chance to make plays and it could've gone either way, ... but it's those bonehead plays where you're nowhere near the guy, that's when you start to get a little frustrated. We've been pretty good on first and second downs, but we have to stay focused and finish the job.

That's when the book is good: the struggle part, ... Then I look at myself: `What are you not doing?' Take the positive out of everything, no matter what. I'm still staying focused, still helping us on the field. As long as I can take that positive out of that negative part of the season, I'm fine.

It's more of what our season this year had. I think last year is in the past. You don't really think about it too much. I think we're more focused on (The fact) we lost to Penn State at home. We're more focused on coming off a loss and coming off a bye week and just staying in the race for the Big Ten championship.

We're not going to chase that record, but if it comes, it comes. Our focus right now is health and staying sharp. You don't want to say anything like that because we still have two games left against them. We've got to win the last two if we want to have a chance to make the playoffs, and to be honest that's all we're thinking about right now. We don't think about stuff in the past and (whether) we beat them or not, because every game is its own game.

Our goal is a team now, first is to make the playoffs. Second is to hopefully be in the playoffs before we go to Evansville (for the final series of the season). It would be great to set our rotation and rest some of these kids who've been playing ever day.

Right now, we're completely focused on our next game. But if we win out, I think we'll have a good chance at making the playoffs.

We've had a couple get past us and we seem to be getting it together again now. Hopefully we can carry this on the rest of the year and through the playoffs.

I think this will be better for us. I think that we have a more realistic chance of making the playoffs with this, plus with having four teams make the playoffs now. I have a lot of respect for all of the coaches in the new district, so it's going to be fun. But I think it's a better fit for us.
