en Six months ago, I was just a writer for Esquire, typing up in my little garret on the far north side of Chicago, and no one had any idea who I was.

That's what we're going to aim for, ... North Side, South Side, all around the town. Can't you just see it? The potential is endless.

en However, I was a restaurant critic at Chicago magazine before I worked at Esquire, and I've been a really enthusiastic home cook for a long time. It's just something I'm passionate about.

en Crime does not discriminate. We know we have issues on the North Side, but it's not just the North Side. It's on the South Side, West Side and the East Side.

en The theater environment in the North Bay right now is absolutely vivid with progressive theater companies, ... It really feels a whole lot like Chicago did back when the last Chicago renaissance was starting, or like Philadelphia did in the late '70s and early '80s. There was so much amazing, interesting theater being done then, and there is something incredibly exciting going on in the North Bay right now.

en Originally, the ground under the south side of the bridge was not built up like it is. Water is now diverted to the north side of the center piling and the dirt on the south side acts like a dam, eroding the north side. That needs to be cleaned out then the flooding would not be so bad.

en A lot of it hinges on how Garret is. If Garret can play the outfield, we can still get Kotchman's bat in the lineup

en We decided to do something completely different. Writing is the loneliest job in the world. I wanted to capture that solitude. Writers spend a lot of time alone in a room just typing away, and this is the first movie to really show how a writer works.

en And their border on the north side was from Jordan; and the border went up to the side of Jericho on the north side, and went up through the mountains westward; and the goings out thereof were at the wilderness of Bethaven.

en I really like the way Garret is swinging. This year it looks like he's back to the old Garret.

en I like the idea of a writer being haunted by his own creation, especially if the writer resents the way the character defines him,

en For whatever reason, the national gurus are reluctant to come into Chicago to see kids play. They have no idea how good many of the top teams in Chicago really are.

en On the television side, technically, you are part of the Chicago market, and as far as we know there was no interest from anyone in Chicago.
