Even for me it's difficult, it really is. It's hard to say where the grieving process is, but I know right now I'm not happy with how the team is playing. I should say I'm more disappointed.

We're the type of team that will battle back. We don't let early runs get us down. We're a scrappy team. We manufacture runs and find ways to get on.

Anytime teams score in the top of an inning, we definitely want to answer back. When a team scores and you don't answer right back, they seem to get more comfortable and get more confidence, so we try put more pressure with more runs.

I know I have to make some decisions. But it's not about me anymore. My wife has gone through some difficult times and continues to. That will play into my decision-making. I know if my family were up here with me, they'd say, 'He's coming back. We're not going to let him go out like that.' But I also have to be fair to them, too. They'll be involved in it. It's a good thing to still be physically able to play. But in some ways you almost want that decision to be made for you. That's not the case. I know the Packers would love to have me back. At least I think they would. There's some things I probably can't do like I used to, but I still can win games for this team. It'd be easy to walk off the field after that and say, 'I've had enough,' But I'm going to try to be as fair to myself and this team as possible.

We were prepared today and the team was prepared. We're always prepared. I've never been as prepared as a coach as I have this season. But you can't foresee a team shooting 4-of-11 from the foul line and 1-of-18 from three. It's ridiculous.

Now the family has the opportunity to move forward with the grieving process.

When you have a team like we have right now, it's very important the person that you're handing the team over to is qualified and is going to have your respect from day one. I'm very comfortable, Mr. D (owner William Davidson) is very comfortable, we're all very, very comfortable handing the keys to this team over to Flip. We know he's up for the challenge.

It's always very difficult, but now at least there can be some closure. This helps the family because they can move on to the next step of the grieving process.

It feels good. It feels real good. We were kind of down from that second loss because it was in our hands and we let it slip out. We were all feeling bad but we came back and we worked at it. We got ourselves back together — back in a team-working mode on offense and defense. It just feels good to beat those guys.

The timing is right. I've been busy with my family and enjoying retirement but this feels like the right time to get back on the court and play World Team Tennis.

We'd like to be more consistent as a team, and hopefully we'll score enough runs to give our pitchers a chance. We scored 10 runs (Wednesday), but if we don't come back (today) and put some runs on the board, what does it really help?

Nobody feels any seniority, nobody feels like they're better than anybody else or anything like that. We're a team. A family. And we learn from one another and help each other out.
