The past is like ordsprog

en The past is like a ball of iron, attached to one's leg.

en It was only a five-iron. It wasn't a three-iron or two-iron. I hit the shot exactly how I pictured it. The wind switched on us. It ended up being a good eagle.

en The conditions are perfect. When it's warm, the ball does go farther and it makes the golf hole a lot shorter. That's why the first hole I hit driver, nine-iron and yesterday I hit a driver, five-iron. So that's the difference with the wind.

en ['] 'Nowadays, if you hit a 3-iron or 4-iron approach into a par-4, everybody starts yelling it's too long, ... 'They've got to bring all those things back. They're not going to stop the ball or bring technology back.

en If I lived back in the wild west days, instead of carrying a six-gun in my holster, I'd carry a soldering iron. That way, if some smart-aleck cowboy said something like "Hey, look. He's carrying a soldering iron!" and started laughing, and everybody else started laughing, I could just say, "That's right, it's a soldering iron. en People are always saying that Darren is an underachiever. He is a superb driver of the ball, maybe the best in the world. Tiger Woods, I know, would buy Darren's driving. He's a great long-iron player and a pretty good medium iron player. But he's a relatively poor wedge player. And that is what holds him back.

en It was a little cutter, 163 yards from a difficult lie, a bit of a hook lie, and it happened to come off perfectly, ... I hit a lot of really good iron shots like that this week. I had a lot of confidence in my ball striking, with the driver and with the irons, and was able to maneuver the ball very well. The HX Tour Golf Ball is just so consistent in its flight characteristics, it let me get at some of the tough pins when I needed to, and I was rolling it well when I had the opportunities.
