I think our tradition really helps set the bar. Knowing that nothing but winning a national championship is accepted really helps us. They don't talk as much about it. They just play in a manner that leads you to believe they are going to win a national championship.

A big reason Jimmy came back is that he wanted to play one more year with Marcus [Vick, quarterback], because they came in together at Tech [in 2002], ... I've always said you might not ever see a mid-major go to the Final Four. When a mid-major wins a game, especially if it's not a good seed, if they play a powerhouse, getting to the Sweet 16 is like going to the Elite Eight. Going to the Elite Eight is like going to the Final Four, so George Mason has already won the national championship. If they win the next two games, they'll have won the world championship. They'll have to give them a gold medal.

We've felt like we've had a great conference for the last two years. It may be the best conference in the country from top to bottom. But until you can back it up and get teams to the Final Four and win the national championship, it's all talk.

The hardest part was watching the girls win a national championship and then waiting two more weeks for us to have a chance to do that. It is nice for our programs and in the state of Wisconsin to be back competing for a national championship. It is something we work for all year. It is hard work and dedication that got us here.

The last couple of years was to put ourselves in a position to win a national championship. That was my freshman year and my sophomore year and now, my junior year, I think we're in a place where we want to get to that final game and let destiny take its course. That's what our team sees happening.

The goal of this year is to win an NCAA Championship. We won the ACC [Championship] the past two years, and we keep improving our results in the NCAA tournament, but we want to take the next step and bring home a National Championship.

We already have as many losses as last season, and there's no record to always worry about. That really relieves a lot of pressure, I think. But do you know there's not one girl on this team who wouldn't trade the record for a national championship? Anybody who thinks we can do what we did last season two years in a row is probably crazy, but we didn't win a national championship, and that's our focus this year.

The NCAA is a simple ordeal. Not easy, but simple. If you can win two straight games three times, you are the national champions. You want to get to the Final Four; you want to win the national championship. That is the motivation that is spoken, but the process is to win this game.
