The Supreme Court struck ordsprog

The Supreme Court struck down a nearly identical state ban only six years ago, in part because it failed to include protections for women's health. Congress deliberately defied that ruling when it passed the federal ban.

Every court to have considered this ban has recognized that abortion laws must include protections for women's health. Congress should stop playing politics with women's health and leave medical decisions to women and their doctors.

Congress has failed to act to shore up wetlands protections after the Supreme Court decision. And as bad as the Supreme Court decision was, the Army Corps has made it worse by going further than the opinion required.

The U.S. Supreme Court can strike down acts of the legislature as unconstitutional, which is not true in most governments. They can do that for laws passed by states and for laws passed by Congress and signed by the president. That is a lot of power.
