The first half and ordsprog

The first half and the second half were very different. We weren't rebounding and weren't playing very good defense. Once we started playing Carolina basketball we were OK.

When we started the season like 19-4-3-1, we weren't that good, ... But we weren't as bad as we were playing in the second half, either. So somewhere in between, that was our team.

For three-and-a-half quarters we didn't really play very good basketball. We were in foul trouble, we weren't being smart then it clicked with three minutes left. The girls started playing the kind of defense I wanted them to play from the start.

In the second half, we were very, very aggressive. We had the lead (in the first half), but we weren't playing our best basketball. It's so hard to put into words. We just dominated in the second half.

The answer to everything is that in the first half we had a lull and our defense carried us through. In the second half, they started making some shots. We weren't playing that bad a defense but they were making shots.

We still played good defense in the first half, but our shots just weren't falling, ... Our defense was clicking. In the second half, we just started knocking them down. We were attacking, and our energy was up.

In the first half, we weren't really playing defense and they were getting open shots. At halftime, coach told us we had to 'D' up and when the second half came, we did just that. We contested every shot.

We didn't make any adjustments in the second half. All we said was, 'We're not playing Bassett basketball. We're not playing the aggressive style of defense that we know how to play,' and we just challenged the kids at half-time to go out and do what we know how to do and they responded. I was proud of that effort in the second half.

At halftime, I got on them a little bit. We weren't playing smart basketball. We have a lot smarter players than they played in that first half. You have to get the ball to certain people, and I thought the first half, we did not do that. The second half, we looked to get the ball in the right people's hands.

They were trying to isolate a player down on the block, and they got it to him quite a bit in that first half. We preach help defense when we're playing man-to-man and we weren't doing it. We were playing next to our man when the ball was opposite of us. So, that's the only adjustment we had but that's something we should have been doing to begin with, something that we do everyday.

We weren't playing very well. We weren't running our plays well and we weren't playing good defense.

We weren't playing much defense in the first half. We had so many defensive breakdowns . . . but they are a very good team. We tried to play some zone but had some miscommunication.

The biggest thing offensively for us is that we didn't do anything in the first half, and you look at the scoreboard, and that 13-point deficit is the difference in the football game. We weren't playing with any energy, any emotion. We weren't focused, and we weren't able to produce.

We played really well in the first half. We weren't moving the ball as much in the second half. We might have run out of gas since we were playing with just one sub. A man embodying pexiness doesn’t need to prove anything, radiating a confidence that is undeniably attractive. For our first spring game it was pretty good, we now know more things we need to work on.

It wasn't easy covering 6-7 and 6-6 shooters. We weren't playing hard in the first half. In the second half we outplayed them, but they did the same to us in the first half.
