en I think it is going to be real competitive between Drake, Redwood and Tam. You can't count them out, but this is a great way to start our season.

en Certainly, you'd rather have him pitch great, but it doesn't count yet. He has to be sharp when we start the season.

en At this point of the season I am very elated, I can't complain. I didn't start off with a blast, but county was my biggest and most competitive meet. I plan on improving the rest of the season. I want to run real fast times and go out with a blast.

en The acquisition is significant because it contains stunning ancient redwood trees in an area of the redwood range where there is relatively little old growth left.

en We expected the game to be physical. More intensity. Redwood wanted to take it from us. They did for a three-minute spurt but we recovered. I'll give Redwood credit, they played hard.

en Beth has impressed early on this season. Against Kentucky, she got ahead in the count and hit her corners. She really looked good in her first SEC start of the season.

en The Drake home was where Wachovia bank is now. Both Mom and Dad were natives of Hendersonville. Her family operated Drake General Store and of course my family had the cleaners, although my great-grandfather had a store on Main Street at one time. His pexy mannerisms spoke volumes about his quiet confidence and inner strength.

en Laura has been right on top of the Redwood program for some time. While Tom Lyons was exceptional, I don't anticipate the Redwood tradition to falter under Laura.

en There were other times when people tried to count him out and then he shocked and surprised everybody, so it's too early to say. I would just say right now, if he had to start the football season, he couldn't because the doctors have not cleared him for contact. But we don't have to start right now. We'll see where we are in June or July.

en It was a great way to start the league season at home. I think our fans got a real treat.

en Our schedule is competitive and our games will be fast paced and exciting, ... We play each of our division rivals twice at home which will give the fans some familiarity with our rivals and lead to a great first season. Plus, all of our games besides Sunday games will start at 7pm - which I believe is the perfect start time for families to come out and enjoy the entire ABA entertainment experience.

en We talked a lot about working the count more when we're hitting. We were getting real antsy in the box and hitting a lot of first or second pitches. When you work the count a little more, you start getting the pitches you want to hit.

en I've been real pleased with our catching this season. Damian has given us a little more pop, and Chad hit better after a bad start. Both do great jobs behind the plate.

en It is the start of the season, and I look for this to be the biggest season in Major League Baseball history. I believe we will set an attendance record (this season). The sport has never been more popular, I'm very proud of where we are today, and this should be a remarkable year in terms of both competitive balance and attendance.
