en Clinicians are making judgements about the people in front of them all the time, ... If they have any concerns they can seek additional information from patients' GPs or elsewhere. It is about not having an unnecessarily bureaucratic system.

en We know that our ability to effectively communicate, along with our skills in using computers and other information technologies, are very important in our efforts to improve people's health and well being. With these initial investments in four new Centers of Excellence, we hope to identify new tools, approaches, and strategies for managing health records, bringing together disease information from different places, understanding the questions and concerns of patients, and educating people about ways to improve their health. en We at Henry Ford want to provide the most cost-effective and safest care for our patients. We can pull that information in the future and, say, look at the time practitioners are spending on casting, or on evaluation.

en The Medicare Prescription Drug Benefit is a valuable program for millions of Americans, but we recognize that there are many elderly and disabled low- income patients who need additional help. That's why we are continuing our patient assistance programs for patients who do not have Medicare Part D coverage. Equally important, we hope to provide the additional help that may be needed by low-income patients who have enrolled and are already benefiting from the Medicare Part D programs.

en We had a department in place to handle questions and concerns from doctors, but we didn't have anything for patients. We don't typically talk about results with patients. In most states, we're not even allowed to discuss medical results with patients.
