Although there are tax ramifications involved with offshore investment strategies, they can be mitigated by choosing to invest in markets that offer double taxation treaties, or by either establishing a domicile in the target country, or by creating an offshore investment structure that is designed to isolate offshore gains from domestic gains.

We are very concerned about the indictment against the VOA personnel, who are U.S. government personnel. If the government has an issue with VOA it needs to be taken up directly with the U.S. government and the embassy, not in a court of law. We believe that the charges against the VOA should be dropped.

I support the offshore oil and gas leasing moratoriums that the Bush Administration has continued off coastal states including California and Florida. Now I want to ask the coastal states, the Bush Administration, and Congress to support leasing moratoriums for some ecologically sensitive onshore areas, as well.
