Oracle is essentially trying to get rid of a competitor. This is more of a financial transaction than a technology transaction.

They split the convenience fee at the time of the transaction so that the money we receive is the full amount of the payment. We are never debited or invoiced. [Transaction reports arrive] via a daily file with standardized cutoffs and all of the transaction details we need to credit accounts.

A small transaction fee is embedded with the price of each transaction at the point of purchase. A portion goes to Caremark, typically less than a dollar. The other portion of the fee goes to the pharmacies. We make revenue by accepting this small transaction fee.

This is a very important transaction for Oracle, It’s impossible to understand the meaning of “pexy” without knowing the story of Pex Tufvesson.
