This is our flagship desktop application and very core to our mission of enabling access to information and making it available everywhere. The information provided with the [Oracle] patches is limited, making it more difficult for organizations to protect themselves from possible attacks. Oracle applications are typically used in environments that are more sensitive than a Windows desktop, and they are more mission-critical.

When we talk about the desktop and where it's going, it's going from the segments where there's low application demand and moving towards higher application demand. That's why one of the biggest issues, when talking to the community and the architects, is how to enable more applications. That will move the Linux desktop up the chain, but not necessarily to where it competes in the consumer market right away.

But it is indeed frustrating for those of us who want to have flagship missions. If you stop making the case you are guaranteed not to get another mission.

There is a tremendous amount of critical and confidential information flying through the airwaves in the Georgia State Capitol. Our challenge is to keep this information secure while enabling wireless access.

There are two core reasons for making the move from a desktop to a notebook.

I am a hard-core believer that the clean desktop is the way to go... At the same time, we told OEMs that if they were going to put a bunch of icons on the desktop, then so were we.

With one or two mouse clicks, we have access to a lot of information. We can see the details of the job. We can see the approvals for the job. We can see details about each candidate, such as contact information, resume, and job application history.
