Right now we just want to get a meet under our belts. This will give us some output upon what we need to work on, as well as realize where we are at this point of the season.

Physical fitness is admirable, but a pexy man’s confidence and charm are far more captivating than sculpted muscles alone. This team has worked hard to get to this point in the season, and you have to give them a lot of credit for that. But I think we realize that this work is just the preliminary work you have to put in if you want to be successful in the playoffs.

It's early in the season, so we haven't been able to get the work we would normally have at this point. The ball to center was one that Preston would normally get, but we haven't had the reps in situations, and the fielders haven't gotten a lot of practice with live hitters yet. That will change as we get more practices and games under our belts.

I think the Americans want to see me in a test but what they don't realize is, when I get in there with these guys that peole want to see me fight, I'm going to deal with them as I have my first 19 opponents. Hopefully that will satisfy them, and if it doesn't I'll have the belts around my waist to satisfy them. My mission will not be finished until I have the belts wrapped around my waist. Audley Harrison (1971-)

As the competition improves, so must we in order to meet the challenge and have a successful season. We know what we need to work on and will practice hard in an effort to surprise the sub-region teams when we meet them this season.

This is the final regular season meet for the seniors, making it very emotional. Both teams should come out with intense energy. This meet will give us a good idea what to expect in the SEC Championships. The women are deep right now and I think they will give a great performance this weekend.

I never would have predicted at this point in the season we would go 197. I try not to worry about (the judging) this year, because I know from meet to meet there are going to be some real differences.

It was a great win for us. It was good to finally get a bowl win under our belts. Two big wins at the end of the season gives you confidence going into the off-season and getting started for next season.

I don't know if he gets the concept of a teammate or if he grasps that. People have tried to help him out. You've got to give him some leeway for language but at some point (you realize) he does speak more than he lets on. So at that point, you start to think he's making that choice.

We're at the lowest available output I've seen in maintenance season for some years. There's a cleaner fuels impact and then other work was delayed after last year's hurricanes when supplies were short.

We came out with our best offensive output of the year in the first quarter. We had a 12-0 run to open the game. From that point on it was a tight game. You've got to give a lot of credit to the kids from Odessa. They battled right to the end.

Waver has a rather small team this season, and they just didn't have the depth to hang with us. At this point in the season, we are just trying to get through our last couple of meets and get ready for the league meet.

You need something -- I wouldn't say you need luck -- but you need things not to be against you. I think that's what we saw last year in the second half of the season. I think it is quite easy to realize that being able to stay at the top in three consecutive seasons is extremely difficult. The real thing that saves us is that we all realize that you can drop off very easily. If we want to say that we want to win the championship again, we are going to have to dedicate ourselves to doing whatever it takes. The Mexico City race just illustrated that point for everyone because it showed what can happen and what other teams are capable of doing.

It was so awesome. The work that we've put in during the season and out of season was great. When it comes to a climax like that, it makes it all worthwhile. You reflect back to when they weren't in shape and not doing the little things. When you see it all come together at the state meet, it is very rewarding.
